Children of God
To know God
and experience
His loving presence
is a blessing
We want to bask
in His love
and stay there
forever
But there is
work to be done
Not just for
our income
But for the
kingdom
Just when we think
we’re doing okay
The past is behind us
and we’re feeling
unstoppable—
the spirit of God
decides to show us
something that
has been left undone
Things left unsaid
hurt not healed
and unforgiveness
concealed
We get a memory
a flashback
and an uneasy feeling
from something past
This is The Way
the way that leads
to life
God who loves
his little ones
leaves no stone unturned
We can’t change others
but we must not allow
them to embitter us
No child of God
can live this way
for long
Remain in His loving
presence and you
will be guided
The only way to remove
the sour taste
of being wronged
is to give it into the hands
of the one and only
Our healer
Our deliverer
Give your pain
to God
and
He will transmute it
into pure love.
Ask for it—
Soften my heart, O Lord
Melt away the hardness
and make me more like you.
