3 Secrets To Finding The Life You Truly Want And Being Happy
Unless you become like a little child, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven
Hi everyone!
Some people believe in following their dreams and others think it's nonsense.
As a child, I had many dreams but somewhere along the way, I lost them.
My childhood dreams got buried beneath a pile of fears and confusion until I got to a point where I thought I didn't have any.
The world has a peculiar way of knocking that child-like awe and wonder right out of us.
In our society, we are conditioned to grow up to be good, reasonable, logical, rational, conforming, useful human beings.
That's all well and good if you want to live a boring stagnant life, void of any dreams, visions, hopes, or desires.
But, for those of you who still have that flame burning within you to pursue an unfulfilled dream, carry on reading...
Your dream can become a reality - it can happen for you!
The world needs more dreamers like you.
People who are willing and ready to reconnect to their child within.
Here are 3 simple keys to unlocking your dreams.
#1 Choose happiness
Happiness is a conscious decision. Start the day with a smile and say to yourself .." Today I choose happiness" and that is what you will get. It's that simple.
You are in control of your own happiness. Other people, things, or circumstances do not dictate your happiness. You have the power to choose.
You can control how you feel despite your circumstances.
Victor Franklyn's experience as a concentration camp inmate led him to discover the importance of finding meaning in all forms of existence, even the most brutal ones...
“I can achieve more happiness by living in the present moment. My circumstances do not have to dictate my happiness. I can be happy if I choose to be happy."
Victor Franklyn, Man's Search for Meaning
#2. Be grateful - give thanks!
Being grateful is the key to living a happy life. Start the day off with a grateful heart.
Count your blessings daily. There is so much to be thankful for, just look around you; your health, your work, your friends and family, your home, car, hobbies, etc.
When you begin this habit of being grateful, you will start to notice more and more things to be grateful for.
Research shows that having a grateful attitude is good for your mental and physical health.
Gratitude shifts people away from negative thinking, bitterness, and resentment.
In his book, Authentic Happiness, University of Pennsylvania psychologist Martin Seligaman encourages readers to perform a daily "gratitude exercise", which involves listing a few things that make them grateful.
This shifts people away from bitterness and despair and promotes happiness.
#3 Believe
Believe it is possible!
Believe you deserve success and happiness in your life. Believe that you are being cared for by God. It's an attitude of the mind and it's about trusting.
You may need to shift your thinking from a scarcity mindset to an abundance mindset to receive all your heart desires.
If you ask and believe, you will indeed have it.
You must first see it in your mind's eye before it becomes a reality.
This is referred to as Visioning.
Developing a vision brings your hopes and dreams into reality and creates the life you want.
It is through vision that we draw what we need to us.
We attract our most dominant thoughts.
What you think and what you say becomes your reality.
"As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he."
—Proverbs 23:7
Once you learn to live with this positive attitude, develop an abundance mindset, and believe the rest will fall into place.
You will set goals with a new belief and confidence in your ability to find lasting happiness.
Become like a little child again and see the awe and wonder return.
“Then Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them, and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.”
—Matthew 18:2-4
